2009 Champions for Children Gala w/ Jukes Foundation for Kids

Event Description:

Jukes Foundation for Kids (JFK) is a not-for-profit chapter of Ambassadors For Children dedicated to providing financial support for the educational needs of young students in Uganda and the United States. We do so by participating in events and projects that will enrich the lives of underprivileged children.

Inspired by his volunteer trip to Uganda in the summer of 2008, Avery Jukes now devotes his time off the basketball court to help children in need. He founded the Jukes Foundation for Kids to serve his mission by collecting educational resources, clothing, food, and helping raise funds that will provide financial aid for the education of the youth.

This family-friendly Gala will be held at the newly renovated NCAA Hall of Champions, 700 West Washington, in Indianapolis, on April 17th, 2009 beginning at 6:00 p.m. and will honor the 2008-2009 Butler Men's Basketball Team. Other highlights will include a charity raffle, a live band, hors d'oeuvres and refreshments for guests, as well as guest speakers, silent auction and full access to the Hall of Champions' interactive displays. The dress code is casual.

Special Guest Speakers include Butler Head Basketball Coach Brad Stevens, The President of Butler University, Dr. Bobby Fong, and a performance by Indiana's own, "Breaksk8" from Season One of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew!

The event will conclude with a keynote address from President Avery Jukes.

A special VIP "Meet and Greet" with the entire Bulldog Basketball team will take place for recognized guests and event sponsors at 6:00 p.m.

Following the Gala, the festivities will continue at 14 West Restaurant at 14 West Maryland for the, "Supporters' Soiree" for top donors and associates of Butler University. The Supporters' Soiree is intended for adults only. Free appetizers and cash bar all night
